Brazilian iron ore exports down 17% in May on Vale output restrictions

Brazilian iron ore export volumes fell again in June amid Vale's constraints on output, according to data from the country's ministry of economy published on Monday July 1.

The country exported 29.4 million tonnes of iron ore in June, down by 16.70% from 35.3 million tonnes in the corresponding month a year before and 1.40% lower than 29.8 million tonnes in May 2019.There was one less working day in the month, on an annual comparison, which also influenced the size of the decline.
