Brazilian iron ore exports up 8.40% in January, ministry data shows

Iron ore export volumes from Brazil went up by 8.40% year-on-year in January to a total of 33.16 million tonnes, the country's ministry of industry and foreign trade, MDIC, said on Friday February 1.

The volume shipped abroad in January 2019 compared with 30.44 million tonnes during the corresponding month in 2018. In comparison with December 2018, however, exports in January this year fell by 9.20% from 33.20 million tonnes, according to the data.First-quarter figures in...
