Brazilian pig iron export market up again on shortage

The price for pig iron exports from Brazil went up again during the week to Friday November 20 on strong demand in both the export and domestic markets.

Fastmarkets assessed the price of pig iron, export, fob port of Vitoria/Rio, Brazil at $390-395 per tonne on Friday, up from $375 per tonne a week ago.

A sale was done to Mexico at about $390-395 per tonne fob, sources said. The cargo contained a combination of material which had been booked from producers at different times and different prices, sources said...
