Brazilian pre-painted steel service center CPP begins operations

New Brazilian service center Centro de Cortes de Pr?(C)-Pintados (CPP), which focuses on pre-painted steel products, started operational activity in the southern state of Santa Catarina on August 11, the company told Fastmarkets on Thursday August 12.

The unit is located close to the country's main steel trade hub, S??o Francisco do Sul port, and on inauguration had capacity to process 14,000 tonnes per yearof steel with single-shift working. And there were plans to expand that to 25,000 tpy with a double-shift work pattern, the company added.

New machinery was also expected to arrive soon that could increase capacity to as much as 50,000...
