Brazilian slab export prices stable; demand remains strong

Steel slab export prices from Brazil were unchanged in the week ended Friday October 30, but demand remained strong amid a steady performance by the flat steel markets.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel slab, export, fob main port Brazil, was $490-505 per tonne on Friday, unchanged from the previous week.
Mills have mostly shifted to January-shipment offers, and they have been seeing demand from the United States, Mexico, Canada and the Brazilian domestic market.
