Brazilian slab export prices widen on high demand from US

Slab export prices from Brazil increased in the week to Friday November 6 as buyers in the United States negotiate January-shipment batches.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel slab, export, fob main port Brazil, rose to $500-540 per tonne fob on Friday, up by $10-35 from $490-505 per tonne fob the previous week.
Offers for Brazil-origin slab were reported as high as $540 per tonne fob.
