Brazilian steel scrap exports down 59% to 21-month low in November

Brazilian exports of ferrous scrap plummeted in November 2020 with the country's industry focused on the domestic market, although Bangladesh remained the principal destination for the shipments that were made, data from the country's economy ministry showed on Friday December 4.

Brazil shipped 30,162 tonnes of scrap last month, down by 59.1% in comparison with 73,779 tonnes in November 2019 and at the lowest level for 21 months, since 26,777 tonnes in February 2012. Exports also fell by 52.4% from 63,305 tonnes in October this year.
