Brazilian steel use up in February but still down year on year, A??o Brasil says

Brazilian apparent steel consumption recovered in February 2019, but figures were still down year-on-year in the first two months of the year, national steel association Instituto A??o Brasil said on Thursday March 21.

Apparent usage reached 1.63 million tonnes last month, 3.70% higher than the 1.57 million tonnes of February 2018. In this year's January-February period, volumes totaled 3.17 million tonnes, down by 1.20% from 3.21 million tonnes in the corresponding months of 2018.Once again, flat-rolled products took the spotlight during February.
