Output of steel slab by Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Sider??rgica Nacional (CSN) went down during the July-September quarter of 2018 because of a short outage for maintenance work, according to an earnings report published on Wednesday November 7.
The company produced 937,000 tonnes of slabs in the quarter, down by 12.30% from 1.07 million tonnes in the corresponding months of 2017. There were only 1,000 tonnes of third-party material bought during the period.CSN is planning a major stoppage of its largest blast furnace in July 2019, the company confirmed to Fastmarkets on November 8.
