British Jewelers to Close for Queen's Funeral

(IDEX Online) - Britain's three biggest jewelry chains will all close their stores on Monday to mark the funeral of Queen Elizabeth.Beaverbrooks, Signet UK (H Samuel and Ernest Jones), and the Watches of Switzerland Group (Goldsmiths, Mappin & Webb and Watches of Switzerland) have more than 500 stores between them.Many smaller multiples and independent retailers will also remain closed for the state funeral.Beaverbrooks said: We remain deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We will forever be inspired by her unwavering commitment to our country, which she led with decency, humility and integrity during her incredible 70-year reign."To allow all of our colleagues to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, our stores, warehouse and customer service centre will be closed on Monday 19th September. During this time, our phone lines, live chat and emails won't be monitored."Watches of Switzerland said: "Our sadness at this time is shared by people across the globe, as we proudly remember with great affection the lifetime of service Her Majesty devoted to her nation and the Commonwealth."
