(IDEX Online) - Lucapa says it has recovered 13 diamonds - eight of them Type IIa - from bulk sampling at Lulo, in Angola. The Australian miner describes results from initial processing as "positive and significant". It says the L028 kimberlite being explored is adjacent to alluvial Mining Block 46, known for its high-value Type IIa and fancy colored diamonds. The 13 stones recovered from L028 have a total weight of 4.15 carats. The largest stone is a 0.93-ct white diamond and the largest Type IIa is 0.59 carats.Last month Lucapa announced record performances at its mines in Angola and Lesotho, reflecting strong post-lockdown demand for diamonds. It also raised its full-year revenue guidance last week by up to 27 per cent, in what it called a "resurgent diamond market".Pic courtesy Lucapa shows (from left to right top): 0.93, 0.59, 0.49, (and left to right bottom): 0.41 and 0.30 carat diamonds recovered from L028 kimberlite bulk sample.
