CATL, CMOC sign co-operation deal to develop Kisanfu copper-cobalt project

Chinese battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology's (CATL) indirectly controlled subsidiary Ningbo Brunp Times New Energy will acquire a 25% share of China Molybdenum Co's (CMOC) KFM Holding Ltd to develop Kisanfu copper-cobalt project together, CATL said on Sunday April 11.

CMOC Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CMOC, signed a strategic co-operation agreement with Ningbo Brunp Times New Energy on Saturday worth $137.50 million to "establish a comprehensive strategic partnership for the new energy sector."
Under the agreement, CMOC Ltd will continue to hold a 75% stake in KFM Holding Ltd. KFM has a 95% stake in Kisanfu copper-cobalt project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
