''After 30 odd years in traditional banking, working for the big banks around the world, I decided to quit because I thought banking was broken .. and to start a bank from scratch with all new technology'', says Anne Boden, chief executive of Starling Bank.

''The legacy banks are full of this technology which has been around for a long time and it's very, very difficult to maintain and keep at the leading edge''.

Discussing growth plans Boden says Ireland is next on the list and she'd like to be in 10 European countries by around 2022.
