Chilean copper output to rise by 20% until 2030, Cochilco says

Chilean copper content in mine production is estimated to reach 7.04 million tonnes in 2030, rising by 19.7% from 5.88 million tonnes expected in 2019, the country's copper commission Cochilco announced.

Cochilco used the current project pipeline in the country as a basis for calculating production trends, it said on Monday January 27. In a bullish scenario, output could hit 8.08 million tonnes in 2030, but the commission said that even a bearish outlook would have output reach 5.91 million tonnes.
