China CRC exports active despite possible export rebate cut

China's cold-rolled coil (CRC) export market was active in the past week despite the possibility of export rebate cuts, while hot-dipped galvanized coil (HDG) export activity was limited, market sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel cold-rolled coil, export, fob China main port was $805-810 per tonne on Tuesday March 16, up by $5-15 per tonne from $790-805 per tonne on March 9.
Liaoning-based Benxi Iron & Steel kept its offer price for May-shipment CRC stable at $840 per tonne fob China this week and was offering cold-rolled sheet at $845 per tonne fob China, also unchanged week on week.
One trader based in eastern China said the mill could accept around $810 per tonne fob for CRC because he bought 1,000-2,000 tonnes and sold it to the Middle East.
