Export prices for Chinese hot-rolled coil prices rose further on Friday December 20 despite a stable domestic market amid increased buying in South Korea and Pakistan.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,870-3,880 yuan ($552-553) per tonne, unchanged
Northern China (Tangshan): 3,640 yuan per tonne, unchanged
Trading remained moderate in the domestic market, amid relatively low inventory levels.
Most market participants expect spot prices to weaken slightly in the next few days after more cargoes were delivered from northern China to eastern China - where had prices surged in the past few weeks due to tight supply.
