CHINA HRC: Export trading active on higher global prices

China's domestic hot-rolled coil prices remained firm on Tuesday December 31 despite thin trading, while exporters enjoyed active trading amid a rise in prices globally.

Domestic
Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,900-3,920 yuan ($559-562) per tonne, widening upward by 10 yuan per tonne
Northern China (Tangshan): 3,640 yuan per tonne, narrowing upward by 10 yuan per tonne
A Shanghai-based trader said trading there in the spot market was thin on the last day before the January 1 holiday, but prices remained robust because supply was still relatively short.
