China's hot-rolled coil market was quiet on Monday January 20, with most traders and mills having already suspended trading ahead of the Chinese New Year holiday at the end of this week.

Domestic
Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,860-3,880 yuan ($563-566) per tonne, unchanged
Northern China (Tangshan): 3,590 yuan per tonne, unchanged
Trading was thin throughout the day since there were not many participants left in the market.
China's week-long break for the Chinese New Year begins on Friday.
Mills kept their offers stable, though these are for cargoes to be delivered after the break, and not for instant delivery.
