CHINA HRC: Supply pressures emerge on arrival of imports

China's domestic prices for hot-rolled coil edged up on Thursday August 6, but the arrival of imports is increasing supply pressure for re-rolling grades of the flat steel product.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 4,070-4,080 yuan ($586-587) per tonne, up 10 yuan per tonne
A Shanghai-based trader said trading activity was thin during the day after sellers raised prices.
But most market participants are expecting prices for mainstream grades of HRC to remain high in the short term amid low inventory levels.
