CHINA HRC: Traders getting more business from overseas buyers

Traders reported a spike in interest for China-origin hot-rolled coil in the export market on Friday January 17 amid limited offers from mills ahead of the Chinese New Year break next week.

Domestic
Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,860-3,880 yuan ($561-564) per tonne, unchanged
Northern China (Tangshan): 3,590 yuan per tonne, unchanged
Prices were unchanged with sellers keeping offers stable amid the pre-holiday lull in the market.
A trader in Shanghai said that the company he works for had already started its break, which will last until the end of the month.
