CHINA REBAR: Pessimism weighs on prices in northern region

China's domestic rebar prices moved in opposite directions on Tuesday September 10, with those in the eastern region rising on active trading while the northern market weakened on a pessimistic outlook for demand.

Domestic Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,660-3,690 yuan ($514-518) per tonne, up 10 yuan per tonneNorthern China (Beijing): 3,620-3,660 yuan per tonne, down 20-30 yuan per tonneStockists in eastern China actively restocked on materials on expectations of demand improving in the next two months, which pushed up prices in the region slightly.But in the north, sellers were actively destocking because they were expecting demand there to soften over the rest of this month instead....
