CHINA REBAR: Prices fall amid billet, futures losses

China's domestic and export prices for rebar continued to trend downward on Friday March 9 amid big losses in the futures market.

Domestic Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,800-3,860 yuan ($600-609) per tonne, down 30-40 yuan per tonne Northern China (Beijing): 3,880-3,910 yuan per tonne, down 70-80 yuan per tonne Rebar futures decreased sharply on Friday, which led to sentiment in the spot market deteriorating.A weakening billet market added to the pressure on rebar prices, sources said.
