CHINA REBAR: Prices in eastern region fall on destocking needs

Eastern China's rebar prices dropped on Wednesday April 8 on destocking pressure, while those in the northern region held steady on rising demand.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,370-3,400 yuan ($478-482) per tonne, down 20 yuan per tonne
Northern China (Beijing): 3,330-3,370 yuan per tonne, unchanged
 

Demand for rebar in eastern China has reached a "steady and good" level since mid-March, market participants said. As such, they are not expecting buying appetite to experience much growth...
