CHINA REBAR: Prices stop rising in eastern region despite strong futures

Rebar prices in eastern China stopped rising on Friday March 26 amid selling pressure though the futures market registered strong gains. Prices in the region ended the week 60 yuan per tonne higher.

Domestic
Eastern China (Shanghai): 4,750-4,770 yuan ($726-729) per tonne, unchanged
Northern China (Beijing) weekly assessment: 4,660-4,680 yuan per tonne, up by 80-100 yuan per tonne
Billet prices rose three during the day in increments of 20 yuan per tonne on short supply, which stimulated rebar futures.
