CHINA REBAR: Production still high despite emergence of Covid-19 hotspots

Expectations of steady output for rebar in China kept spot prices largely steady despite increases in the futures market on Friday January 15.

Domestic
Eastern China (Shanghai): 4,280-4,310 yuan ($661-666) per tonne, widened upward by 10 yuan per tonne
Northern China (Beijing) weekly assessment: 4,020-4,060 yuan per tonne, down by 60 yuan per tonne
Rebar producers in northern China are maintaining their high production rates despite a rising number of Covid-19 infections in a few provinces there, sources said.
