China's cobalt intermediates imports rise slower than expected in June

China's imports of cobalt intermediates rose in June compared with the prior month, but the increase was smaller than had been expected despite the easing of lockdown restrictions in South Africa since the beginning of May, market sources told Fastmarkets.

China imported a total of 15,206 tonnes of cobalt intermediates in June, an increase of 24.8% from 12,187 tonnes in May, according to Chinese customs data.
Imports for the first six months of this year totaled 122,437 tonnes, up by 2.1% from 119,943 tonnes in the same period of 2019.
