China's CRC export prices stable despite Vietnam anti-dumping probe

Chinese cold-rolled coil export prices remained unchanged over the past week despite an anti-dumping investigation being instigated in Vietnam.

Vietnam's Ministry of Industry & Trade launched the probe after requests from several Vietnamese producers. The investigation encompasses non-alloy cold-rolled steel sheet and coil in widths of less than 1,600mm and in thicknesses of 0.108-2.550mm."Although Vietnam has excess capacity in CRC, Chinese imports remain popular because their prices are lower," a trader in Vietnam said. China exported $12.67 million of cold-rolled flat steel under HS code 720916 in January-July 2019, compared with exports worth $37.70 million in the first seven months of 2018.Chinese CRC prices are expected to be mostly stable this month because of steelmaking...
