China's nickel sulfate price retreats from all-time high

China's nickel sulfate price slid from its all-time high amid active spot trading in the week to Friday August 27, with easing raw material tightness and volatile nickel prices on the London Metal Exchange said to have driven the decrease.

Fastmarkets assessed the price for nickel sulfate min 21%, max 22.5%, cobalt 10ppm max, exw China, at 36,500-38,000 yuan ($5,639-5,871) per tonne on August 27, down by 500-1,000 yuan per tonne (2%) from 37,500-38,500 yuan per tonne on August 20. The previous price was the highest since Fastmarkets launched the assessment in July 2018.
