China's stainless steel mills raise list prices on higher production costs

China's stainless steel prices moved up further in the past week on rising production costs.

The three-month nickel contract on the London Metal Exchange ended Wednesday January 20's official trading session at $18,108 per tonne, up by $377 per tonne from $17,731 per tonne a week earlier.

Stainless steel cold-rolled coil 2mm grade 304 domestic (Wuxi): 14,900-15,700 yuan ($2,303-2,427) per tonne, up by 300-400 yuan per tonne from a week earlier.
Stainless steel mills are losing money this month so they raised their ex-works prices, sources said.
