China's domestic stainless steel prices moved down over the past week amid low demand and high inventory levels.

Fastmarkets MB's price assessment for benchmark 304 stainless cold-rolled coil in the major market of Wuxi was 15,600-15,900 yuan ($2,252-2,296) per tonne including VAT for the week ended Wednesday October 17, down 200 yuan per tonne from a week earlier.Demand remained soft over the past week, and there are no signs pointing to a recovery in the short term, market sources said.
