China's vehicle output, sales dip in Apr

SHANGHAI, May 11 (SMM) – Both production and sales of vehicles in China saw month-on-month declines in April but maintained their stable year-on-year increases, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

China’s vehicle sales reached 2.32 million units in April, down 12.7% from a month ago but up 11.5% from a year ago. This brought the January-April vehicle sales to 9.5 million units, up 4.8% year on year.

The vehicle production stood at 2.4 million units in April, down 8.8% on the month but up 12.3% on the year. In the first four month of this year, total vehicle production amounted to 9.42 million units, up 1.8% year on year.

CAAM data refers to wholesale sales and production of models built and sold in China.
