China starts 2020 NEV subsidy talks in bid to 'build confidence in industry'

There will be no significant reduction in China's new energy vehicles (NEV) subsidies in 2020, Miao Wei, minister of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), revealed in a conference on Saturday January 11.

The general principle for the policy this year is to stabilize market expectations, guarantee healthy and sustainable development, and build confidence in the NEV industry, Miao said.
The MIIT has not yet released final details of the new NEV policy for 2020.
