CHINA STEEL SCRAP: Buyer views mixed despite revised Tangshan emissions plan

Import prices for steel scrap in China remained unchanged on Tuesday June 1, despite Monday's suggestion that steelmaker emissions cuts in the steelmaking hub of Tangshan could be eased to 20-30% from 30-50%.

Buyers continued to hold mixed views for the imported scrap market on June 1.
Some buyers in north China started to show more interest in booking scrap cargoes compared with last week, after the Tangshan authorities suggested, in a notice released on Monday May 31, that converters will be no longer come under production restrictions. 

Market participants said that some buyers from northern China were bidding at around $520 per tonne cfr northern ports, which would be equivalent to around $510 per tonne cfr eastern...
