China vanadium alloy prices consolidate against firm offers, waning buying interest

China's vanadium alloy prices consolidated in the week to Thursday July 9 after many domestic alloy suppliers refused to compromise further on prices and mills' buying interest gradually waned after having completed restocking in previous weeks, market sources told Fastmarkets.

Many domestic suppliers for vanadium alloys including both ferro-vanadium and vanadium nitrogen were reluctant to lower offer prices further last week though buying interest from mills had cooled compared to the weeks before.
Dozens of domestic vanadium alloy plants were heard to have recently gathered in an industrial conference where they were called on to hold prices firm, which partly contributed to prices stopping their decline, market sources said.
Purchasing prices for vanadium nitrogen from domestic mills hovered around 165,000 yuan per tonne last week with the price paid on acceptance and including the value added tax (VAT), market participants told Fastmarkets.
