Chinese antimony price pushed up by production halts in Lengshuijiang

Chinese domestic prices for antimony gained some momentum late last week when all the private antimony producers in Lengshuijiang, in China's central province of Hunan, were required to halt production for safety checks, sources told Fastmarkets on Tuesday April 9.

On April 3, before a national public holiday on April 5, relevant authorities in Lengshuijiang, which is China's major antimony production hub, ordered all the private antimony ingot producers to suspend their production.This came after one local producer was reported to have violated relevant regulations, which resulted in a significant threat to both the environment and human safety, a source familiar with the issue said.There was no information about when local producers will be allowed to resume operations.Many domestic antimony ingot producers in China were heard to have raised their...
