CIS FLAT STEEL: Prices surge on fresh deals, limited availability

Export flat steel product prices from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region surged by as much as $45 per tonne in the week to Monday August 3.

Some suppliers managed to achieve higher sales prices because of rising raw materials costs and limited availability of material in the region.
Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled coil, export, fob Black Sea, CIS, was $435-445 per tonne on Monday, up by $25-30 per tonne from $405-420 per tonne a week before.
