CIS LONG STEEL: Prices drop amid increased competition

Export rebar and wire rod prices from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) decreased in the week to Monday January 25 amid increased competition with Turkish and Chinese suppliers, sources said.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), export, fob main port Turkey was $620-630 per tonne on Thursday January 21, down from $650-660 per tonne fob a week earlier.
Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel wire rod (mesh quality), export, fob main port Turkey was $700-710 per tonne on January 21, down from $710-720 per tonne the previous week.
