CIS LONG STEEL: Rebar prices slide on lower offers, competition with Turkey

Export rebar prices from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) continued to decrease in the week to Monday October 4 after mills reduced offers again due to demand pressure and competition with Turkish suppliers.

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (AMKR), Ukraine's main long steel supplier, offered rebar at $680-710 per tonne fob, widening downward by $10 per tonne from a week ago.
"We reduced prices following Belarus Steel Works (BMZ) and Turkish suppliers," a mill source told Fastmarkets.
"We already hear[d] offers from Turkey at $650 per tonne fob," the source added.
