Prices in the CIS steel billet market softened in the first week of March because of the lack of trading activity.

A number of market participants said that some CIS producers were ready to sell billet at $395 per tonne fob Black Sea, although indications of official offers were reported at $400 per tonne fob Black Sea during the week, compared with $400-410 per tonne fob a week earlier.
