CIS STEEL SLAB: Prices up again on positive HRC market

The export price for steel slab from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) increased again during the week to Monday November 30, mainly because of the continued uptrend in the hot-rolled coil market, Fastmarkets has heard.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel slab, export, fob Black Sea, CIS, was $525-535 per tonne on November 30, up from $485-495 per tonne a week earlier.
Slab offers were heard to go up to $550-560 per tonne cfr in Italy, equivalent to about $530-540 per tonne fob Black Sea. That was up from $505-515 per tonne cfr, or $485-495 per tonne fob, last week.
