Cobalt prices continue modest run-up on consumer buying

Cobalt prices made steady gains in the spot market last week, supported by a continuous stream of post-summer consumer purchases.

Metal Bulletin assessed low-grade cobalt prices at $33.50-34.25 per lb on Friday September 21, stable compared with the midweek assessment, and up from $33.35-34.10 per lb a week earlier. High-grade cobalt prices ended last week at $33.60-34.50 per lb, in-warehouse, rising from $33.50-34.40 per lb midweek and $33.45-34.35 per lb a week earlier.
