Cobalt sulfate prices hold steady amid higher input costs; hydroxide payables also flat

Cobalt sulfate prices in China have held for the second consecutive pricing session, with the majority of producers holding their quotations firm amid high raw materials costs.

 Fastmarkets' assessment for Cobalt sulfate 20.5% Co basis, exw China, stood unchanged at 42,000-45,000 yuan ($5,973-6,400) per tonne on Wednesday December 12 from its previous assessment. The price has dropped 28.7% since early October.
Producers have broadly been sticking to offers at about 42,000-43,000 yuan per tonne, while some told Fastmarkets they would not considering selling cargoes below 45,000 yuan per tonne.

High raw materials costs and attempts to keep financial books balanced approaching the end of the year are among the major rationales given for producers not surrendering to the persistent weakness in demand as a result of slower...
