The seaborne coking coal market strengthened further on Wednesday January 30 amid an emergence of higher bids.
Bids for branded materials on trading platform Global Coal rose to $203 per tonne fob Australia during the day, compared with $189 per tonne fob a few days ago.Meanwhile, a top Australian brand was traded at around $208 per tonne cfr China via a miner's tender, according to various sources. A February-laycan cargo of lower-ranked premium mid-vol hard coking coal also changed hands at $194.50 per tonne cfr China during the day. The cargo was sold by an end user to a trader in China.
