COKING COAL DAILY: Premium price breaks $365 per tonne in China amid supply tightness

Seaborne coking coal prices rose sharply in the cfr China market on Wednesday August 18 due to stable procurement demand and supply tightness. The fob Australia market also inched up on the same day with more buying interest for premium low-volatility hard coking coal, market sources said.

Premium hard coking coal, fob DBCT: $225.48 per tonne, up by $3.06 per tonne
Hard coking coal, fob DBCT: $196.66 per tonne, up by $1 per tonne
Premium hard coking coal, cfr Jingtang: $365.48 per tonne, up by $13.66 per tonne
Hard coking coal, cfr Jingtang: $322.67 per tonne, up by $17.06 per tonne
Seaborne coking coal prices increased further on Wednesday due to a strong domestic coking coal market resulting from a supply shortage of high-quality and low sulfur coking coal, market sources said.
