COKING COAL DAILY: Premium prices largely stable at elevated levels

Seaborne coking coal prices remained largely unchanged on Monday May 24, with market participants cautiously waiting for a trend to emerge after last week's price fluctuations, sources told Fastmarkets.

Premium hard coking coal, fob DBCT: $139.97 per tonne, up $0.55 per tonne
Premium hard coking coal, cfr Jingtang: $254.80 per tonne, up $2.50 per tonne
Hard coking coal, fob DBCT: $114.21 per tonne, flat on day
Hard coking coal, cfr Jingtang: $227.67 per tonne, up $3.99 per tonne
In China, domestic coking coal prices diverged, with the value of lower-quality material starting to decline while higher-quality brands showed strong resilience amid the falling ferrous metals market in the week to May 21, sources said.
