Seaborne coking coal prices in both the cfr China and fob Australia markets remained largely stable on thin trading on Tuesday August 17, with most buyers cautious about accepting high offers, sources told Fastmarkets.

Hard coking coal, fob DBCT: $195.66 per tonne, down $0.25 per tonne
Offers for premium low-volatility (PLV) hard coking coal remained at about $356-360 per tonne, but no firm bids or deals were reported on Tuesday, market sources said.
Major high-quality cargoes are held by two or three large trading houses while steel mills are currently in no hurry to restock.
