COKING COAL DAILY: Prices up in cfr market amid domestic supply tightness

Seaborne coking coal prices increased in the cfr market on Monday July 21 after more coal mines in China shut until July 1 or July 15, while the fob market stayed largely stable, sources told Fastmarkets.

Premium hard coking coal, cfr Jingtang: $288.66 per tonne, up $3.62 per tonne
Hard coking coal, fob DBCT: $154.93 per tonne, unchanged
Hard coking coal, cfr Jingtang: $261.73 per tonne, up $4.54 per tonne
In China, the domestic coking coal market surged last week on further supply tightness amid coal mines closures in north and east China for safety inspections after mining accidents across China in early June. Some mines may not resume production until July 15, market sources told Fastmarkets.
