By now, many of you have probably heard about shadowbanning and the so-called "Adpocalypse" and how they are affecting right-wing publishers online. As egregious as these censorship tactics are, according to Mark Dice, YouTube has now done the unthinkable...
Conservative YouTubers are now seeing pro-Trump merchandise banned from the "Merch Shelf" feature built into their channels. The Merch Shelf feature allows YouTubers to sell shirts, mugs and other branded merchandise directly through YouTube by allowing channel creators to place banner ads for their merchandise at the bottom of their videos.
So why is this happening? According to Mr. Dice, the official reason given by YouTube is that his Pro-Trump t-shirts "do not comply with YouTube's community guidelines.
As Mark Dice sarcastically quips,
"Selling a t-shirt with the presidents on Mount Rushmore all wearing Trump hats is just too offensive."
Unfortunately this is not an isolated occurence, as other conservative YouTube channels are also being affected by this new "Merchpocalypse." According to Dice, The Next News Network has seen its custom Trump merchandise removed and there are almost certainly other channels experiencing this same treatment.
What we are witnessing is the corporate makeover of the internet. Politically-biased Big Tech companies now get to decide what you are allowed to see, hear, read and now wear. A large number of right-wing YouTube channels have already been demonetized, shadowbanned, and outright censored. This is just the latest example of how free-thought and expression are being systematically removed from the last bastion of freedom we have: the internet.
As Matt Drudge of The Drudge Report said in an interview with Alex Jones of Infowars.com five years ago (Alex Jones' channel has since been purged from YouTube), humanity is being pushed into online "ghettos" like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. These online ghettos are designed to confine people into intellectual cages where the thoughts and ideas of the human race can be more easily controlled and manipulated. "They're taking your energy and you're getting nothing in return," Drudge said.
