Copper production in Chile falls 7% in September - report

(Kitco News) - According to a report by theChilean state copper commission Cochilco released today, the domestic copperproduction in September 2021 was 447,400 tonnes, a decline of 7% compared to 479,800tonnes mined in September 2020.

Escondida, the world'slargest copper mine, produced 82,600 tonnes of copper in September 2021, a 12% decreasecompared to September 2020 (94,100 tonnes).

Collahuasi, the world'ssecond largest copper mine, produced 46,100 tonnes of copper in September 2021,which is 14% less compared to 53,400 tonnes of copper mined in September 2020.

Cochilco said that Codelco,the largest copper mining company worldwide, produced 133,800 tonnes of copperin September 2021, or 16% less compared to September 2020.
