(IDEX Online) - Another Hong Kong event has been forced to re-schedule because of the coronavirus outbreak.

The 9th AEC Gems & Jewelry Presidents' Summit, originally scheduled for 3 March, will now take place on 19 May.

It will form a part of two other Hong Kong shows, which have both been postponed amid health fears.

The Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show 2020 (originally scheduled for 2 to 6 March) and the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2020 (originally scheduled for 4 to 8 March) will jointly take place 18 to 21 May at AsiaWorld-Expo.

The Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, organizers of the AEC show, said: "In light of the increased apprehension on the potential health threat caused by the novel coronavirus outbreak, and the HKSAR Government Response Plan to combat the spread of this coronavirus, our association has decided to postpone the 9th AEC Gems & Jewelry Presidents' Summit originally scheduled for 3rd March 2020 in Hong Kong. It was indeed a difficult decision but safety is of utmost importance and concern for us."
